Our area is central for touring and has many tourist attractions, including Landmark-Highland Heritage and Adventure Centre; The Highland Wildlife Park; the Castle and Whisky Trails and famous Loch Ness. In winter visitors can access three ski areas and many winter climbs.

Uniquely secluded, within the Cairngorm National Park, this Bothy Crofthouse has an airy and spacious feel with whitewashed stone walls and simple furnishings. A single, two bunk beds and a futon create a cosy sitting area around the wood burning stove (wood provided) in the one main room, with space for activities on a rainy day and pleasantly tiled work surfaces for food preparation, electric cooker and fridge. There is a smaller adjoining family room and a hot shower. Enjoy an immediate access to an abundance of wildlife, rolling hills and the stunning qualities of natural silence and bird-call. Or explore Upper Donside; castles, galleries and gardens. Within easy access visitors will find the whisky trail, Royal Deeside, Speyside, Findhorn Bay and the coast. Heath Cottage is a delightful 3 Star cottage in the village of Boat of Garten. The cottage is situated in a quiet yet central location within the village with large secluded gardens backing on to extensive pine woods. It has been built and furnished to high standards and is extremely cosy and comfortable. Boat of Garten itself is home to the country's most famous Ospreys, the memorable 'Boat' golf course, the Spey Valley Steam Railway, and of course fishing in the river Spey. Within half an hour drive, you can explore glens, scenic Lochs Insh, Morlich, and Garten and the renowned 'whisky trail'. Guests will find they come back time and again.

Strathdon is situated 1000 feet up in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains within the Caimgorms National Park. Visitors can enjoy National Trust Properties, gardens, local fishing, walking and wildlife. The Whisky Trail, Castle Trail and The Coastal Trail all within a day out. Aberdeen is a 45 mile drive.

Boat of Garten is a quiet village in the new Cairngorm National Park, <b>6 miles from Aviemore and 10 miles from Grantown.</B> Near Craigview is the village Hall, also the Post Office/General store with foreign newspapers and currency exchange. The Boat Hotel (100 yards) does bar and gourmet meals. The Strathspey Steam railway offers trips to Aviemore and Broomhill. The nearby Golf and Tennis Club welcomes visitors. Fishing for salmon, trout and sea trout is available on the River Spey (permits from Allan's store) There are many woodland walks while at Loch Garten is famous Osprey nest on the RSPB reserve. The new Funicular railway to the visitor centre and restaurant high on Cairngorm Mountain is open all year. Both Aviemore and Grantown have full shopping facilities including Tesco in Aviemore which is open 8 to 8 on Saturdays and 9 to 5 on Sundays.

The Lecht Ski Centre is 15 miles away. There are varied places of interest within a comfortable day out. Local Spar shop, post office and hotel are 5 miles away in Strathdon, home of the Lonach Games in August. Royal Deeside is within easy reach. As the cottage, it's garden and access are on a sloping site, this property will not be suitable for wheelchair users.
