Converted from the old rectory coach house, Mews cottage is set in a lovely walled garden in the village of Tansley. This is a pleasant village with three good pubs which serve food. Nearby Matlock provides a variety of shops including a supermarket, many cafes and restaurants, a swimming pool and a pleasant park. The resort of Matlock Bath is 3 miles from the cottage. Also within easy reach is the Peak District National Park, the market town of Bakewell, many stately homes such as Chatsworth and Haddon, Alton Towers, the National Tramway Museum and the famous towns and cities of the North Midlands.

Nestling amongst the foothills of Kinder Scout the estate’s location is excellent for fell-walking and site-seeing alike. With the departure of its original residents Moorfield was divided into a number of individual properties including Moorfield Lodge, the Old Billiard Room and the Garden Flat. Guests are welcome to use the 5 acre grounds of Moorfield House during their stay. Comfortably sleeping 4 to 6, Moorfield Lodge provides an excellent centre for a family holiday in Derbyshire. Sleeping 2, with space for a third if required the Old Billiard Room is an excellent base for a couple or small family seeking a self-catering holiday in the Peak District. Sleeping 2, the Garden Flat is a cosy base for a couple.
