The beach, which is sandy, with pebbles and rock pools, is a mile and a half away, where there is a small free car park. Welcombe is a village on the North Devon/Cornwall border. Popular with walkers, surfers and families, visitors return year after year to enjoy the peace, quiet and natural beauty of the area. There is a large nature reserve nearby, as well as the coast path. The wooded coombes and sunken leafy lanes are crowded with primroses in Spring.<p>Little Nod is situated on a small, secluded site of 12 bungalows behind a thatched pub :- The Old Smithy Inn, which has an open fire in wintertime, serves excellent food, real ales and good wines. There is a village shop/post office and a pottery. There are other pubs and shops in nearby villages and Bude is about 20 minutes away by car. Aromatherapy available in the village.
